GIFT Nifty Opening Update

GIFT Nifty opened today at 23,985.50. It is down -82.00 points (-0.34%) from yesterday’s close of 24,042.00— so the trend is negative.

The Indian stock market experienced widespread buying on Monday, July 27, as benchmark indices rose approximately 1% each, effectively ending a five-session decline. The 30-share Sensex experienced a notable increase of 776 points, representing a rise of 1.02%, concluding at 76,835.78. Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty 50 advanced by 229 points, equivalent to a 0.96% gain, finishing at 23,995.95. However, the market is likely to open on a subdued note as trends in the Gift Nifty index indicated a negative start on Tuesday, 28 July. Gift Nifty was positioned around the 23,986 level, reflecting a decline of more than 42 points from the prior closing of Nifty futures.

“Indian markets are expected to trade cautiously, balancing an improving geopolitical backdrop against renewed volatility in global technology stocks. The U.S. continues to pause strikes on Iran, keeping hopes of a diplomatic resolution alive, although investors remain cautious as markets await tangible progress in the ongoing negotiations. Early indications from Gift Nifty futures, trading around the 24,000 mark, point to a largely flat start for domestic equities,” said Ponmudi R.

As the market indicates a negative opening, certain stocks are expected to attract attention on Tuesday, driven by their individual positive or negative catalysts.
