GIFT Nifty Opening Update

GIFT Nifty opened today at 24,200.50. It is up 144.00 points (0.60%) from yesterday’s close of 24,090.00— so the trend is positive.

The domestic equity benchmarks continued their downward trajectory, marking a seventh consecutive session of losses in the previous trading session, as the Nifty 50 concluded below the 24,100 threshold. The Sensex declined by 325.78 points, representing a decrease of 0.42%, concluding at 76,909.68. Meanwhile, the Nifty 50 experienced a drop of 76.60 points, equivalent to 0.32%, finishing at 24,078.30. On Thursday, the market is poised for a higher opening, as indicated by the Gift Nifty index, which has signalled a positive start. Gift Nifty was positioned around the 24,208 level, reflecting a decline of more than 90.4 points from the prior closing of Nifty futures.

“Indian equity markets are expected to trade with a firmer undertone, supported by an overnight rebound on Wall Street and gains across Asian markets after easing U.S. Treasury yields improved global risk sentiment. While the recovery in overseas equities offers a constructive backdrop, persistent geopolitical uncertainty in the Middle East is likely to keep investors cautious. Early indications from GIFT Nifty futures point to a positive opening for domestic equities,” said Ponmudi R.

As the market indicates a favourable opening, certain stocks are expected to attract attention on Thursday owing to their individual positive or negative catalysts.
