GIFT Nifty Opening Update

GIFT Nifty opened today at 22,713.50. It is down -228.50 points (-1.00%) from yesterday’s close of 22,812.00- so the trend is negative.

The Indian stock market is anticipated to commence trading at a lower level on Wednesday, October 28, as suggested by GIFT Nifty futures. GIFT Nifty was trading around 22,749, down nearly 62.50 points, or 0.27%, from its previous close, indicating a subdued opening for domestic benchmark indices. Meanwhile, the IPO market is attracting attention as Reliance-backed Jio Platforms prepares for its stock market debut today, with investors closely monitoring its listing performance on the NSE and BSE. In the prior session, the benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty concluded the day almost unchanged following a session characterised by volatility. Profit booking in IT stocks and heavyweight banking shares, along with persistent crude oil price pressures and caution ahead of the US Federal Reserve’s policy decision, weighed on investor sentiment.

Several stocks are expected to attract attention during Wednesday’s trading session as companies disclose corporate developments. Updates on order wins, business performance, expansion plans, and other company-specific developments may impact the movements of individual stocks. Jio Platforms, Reliance Industries, Hindustan Unilever, Adani Enterprises, TVS Motor, Larsen & Toubro, and Maruti Suzuki are among the shares attracting attention on Wednesday.
