GIFT Nifty Opening Update

GIFT Nifty opened today at 23,987.00. It is up 37.50 points (0.16%) from yesterday’s close of 23,884.00— so the trend is positive.

The Indian equity benchmarks are poised for a higher opening on Friday, April 10, as suggested by GIFT NIFTY futures. NIFTY futures at GIFT City in Ahmedabad increased by 53 points, reflecting a rise of 0.23% to reach 23,914, supported by favorable signals from Asian markets. On Thursday, April 9, the Indian benchmark indices, SENSEX and NIFTY50, ended the day in negative territory, influenced by selling pressure in the banking, tourism, and financial services sectors. The SENSEX experienced a decline of 1.57%, reaching an intraday low of 76,347.90. The NIFTY50 recorded a session low of 23,682.80.

Equities to Monitor:

  • Tata Consultancy Services: TCS shares are set to attract attention following the announcement of a consolidated net profit of Rs 13,718 crore for the fourth quarter of the previous financial year (Q4FY26). This figure represents a 12% increase from Rs 12,224 crore during the corresponding period last year. On a sequential basis, TCS’ net profit increased by 29% from Rs 10,657 crore. TCS’ revenue from operations increased by 10% year-over-year, reaching Rs 70,698 crore at the conclusion of the March quarter, up from Rs 64,479 crore. In constant currency terms, revenue experienced a 1.2% increase on a sequential basis. The annualised revenue generated by the company from artificial intelligence exceeded $2.3 billion in the fourth quarter of FY26.
  • Eicher Motors: Eicher Motors group firm Royal Enfield has officially entered the electric motorcycle market with the introduction of the Flying Flea C6 bike on Thursday. Flying Flea represents the latest venture in ‘city+ electric mobility’ from Royal Enfield. The Flying Flea C6 is priced at Rs 2.79 Lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 1.99 lakh with the Battery-as-a-Service option, as stated in a regulatory filing by Eicher Motors.
  • IDFC First Bank: The CBI has filed a FIR regarding the alleged embezzlement of Rs 550 crore from the Haryana government’s accounts held at IDFC First Bank in Chandigarh, following their takeover of the investigation, official sources reported on Thursday. The Haryana government has delegated the investigation to the central probe agency. The agency received the referral on Wednesday, as stated by the Department of Personnel and Training.
  • Blue Star: Air-conditioning and commercial refrigeration leader Blue Star Limited anticipates approximately 20% growth in volumes and around 25% revenue growth this year, as stated by its managing director B Thiagarajan on Thursday. The air-conditioning industry is currently experiencing a total cost impact of approximately 13 per cent, which includes 5 per cent attributed to revised energy labelling norms and roughly 8 per cent resulting from increased raw material prices. “Out of this, the industry has already passed on about 5-6 per cent to consumers, and another 5-7 per cent increase is expected in April to offset the remaining impact,” stated Girish Hingorani.
  • Anand Rathi Wealth reported a 25% increase in profit after tax to Rs 92 crore for the quarter ending March 2026. Anand Rathi Wealth, part of the Mumbai-based financial services group Anand Rathi, reported a PAT of Rs 73.6 crore for the same quarter of the previous fiscal year, according to a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges. Total revenue increased by 25% to Rs 301.6 crore in the quarter under review, compared to Rs 241.3 crore in January-March 2025.
