GIFT Nifty Opening Update

GIFT Nifty opened today at 23,131.00. It is down -36.00 points (-0.16%) from yesterday’s close of 23,173.50— so the trend is negative.

Indian benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty 50 are anticipated to commence on a muted note on Tuesday, 9 June, influenced by mixed global cues and a cautious approach from investors. Early indications from the Gift Nifty point towards a slightly negative opening for domestic equities. The index was trading near the 23,137 mark, approximately 38 points below the previous close of Nifty futures, indicating a weak opening for the benchmark indices. The cautious outlook comes after a notable selloff in the prior session, during which Indian markets closed considerably lower due to worries about increasing crude oil prices, geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, and ambiguity regarding the global interest rate trajectory.

On Monday, the BSE Sensex experienced a decline of 719.08 points, or 0.97%, concluding at 73,524.26. Meanwhile, the Nifty 50 decreased by 243.70 points, or 1.04%, finishing at 23,123.00, dipping below the significant 23,200 threshold. Let’s review the recent trends in the stock market. Highlighting key investments, notable deals, contract victories, acquisitions, and recent listings, here’s a succinct overview of the stocks poised to capture interest in today’s trading session.
