GIFT Nifty Opening Update

GIFT Nifty opened today at 23,330.00. It is down -23.00 points (-0.10%) from yesterday’s close of 23,361.00- so the trend is negative.

Investors in the Indian stock market are expected to monitor various companies on Monday, 21 September, as significant corporate developments, such as new orders, fundraising strategies, expansion plans, and other business announcements, take center stage. Mazagon Dock, Rail Vikas Nigam, Kalyan Jewellers, Welspun Enterprises, JSW Energy, Nestle India, and GR Infraprojects are among the stocks expected to attract attention.

Meanwhile, Indian markets concluded the shortened trading week on a downward note, influenced by high crude oil prices and increasing global bond yields, which negatively affected investor sentiment. Among the key benchmark indices, the Sensex declined 0.65% to end at 74,294.46, while the Nifty slipped 0.22% to settle at 23,346.40.

  • Mazagon Dock: MDL on Friday, September 18, signed a memorandum of understanding with National Shipbuilding and Heavy Industries Park-AP to develop a greenfield shipyard at Dugarajapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. The company intends to allocate approximately Rs 15,000 crore toward the project over the forthcoming five to seven years.
  • RVNL, the Navratna PSU operating under the Railroad Ministry, has secured a Letter of Acceptance valued at Rs 404.88 crore from East Coast Railroad. This LOA pertains to the execution of works associated with the construction of a third railroad line connecting Nergundi-Barang and Khurda Road-Vizianagaram.
  • Kalyan Jewellers has allocated Rs 350 crore to its wholly owned subsidiary, Candere Lifestyle Jewellery Pvt Ltd, by acquiring 17.5 lakh equity shares via a rights issue.
  • NMDC, the state-run iron ore producer, has established a goal of attaining Net Zero operational emissions by 2047. The target encompasses Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, which are derived from direct fuel consumption and electricity usage, respectively.
  • Nestle India: The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India has commenced legal proceedings against Nestlé India concerning purported non-compliance associated with its NAN Excella Pro Stage 1 and Lactogen Pro 1 products.
  • Welspun Enterprises announced that its material subsidiary, Welspun Michigan Engineers, has secured two sewer rehabilitation projects from the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, with a total order value of Rs 351.24 crore.
  • VIP Industries Ltd, a manufacturer of luggage and travel accessories, on Friday, September 18, sanctioned a proposal to raise up to Rs 500 crore during FY27, as per a regulatory filing.
  • JSW Energy Ltd on Saturday disclosed that its significant step-down subsidiary, JSW Hydro Energy Ltd, has been granted an order by the Appellate Tribunal for Electricity.
  • Shilpa Medicare, a pharmaceutical company, announced on Friday that a surveillance inspection conducted by the US Food and Drug Administration at its Analytical Services Division in Hyderabad resulted in one procedural observation.
  • GR Infraprojects has reported that the National Highways Authority of India has designated September 7 as the appointed date for the Agra-Gwalior Greenfield Road project, as announced on September 18.
