GIFT Nifty Opening Update
GIFT Nifty opened today at 23,460.00. It is up 2.00 points (0.01%) from yesterday’s close of 23,490.50- so the trend is positive.
Investors in the Indian stock market are expected to monitor a number of companies on Thursday, September 10, in light of significant business developments, order acquisitions, regulatory approvals, fundraising initiatives, and various corporate announcements. Dilip Buildcon, Enviro Infra Engineers, Shakti Pumps, AU Small Finance Bank, and Wipro are among the equities expected to attract attention. Focus Lighting and Fixtures, IRB Infrastructure Developers, Coal India, and Sun Pharma may also attract attention following key business updates announced after market hours.The Indian stock market experienced continued pressure during Wednesday’s trading session, marking the third consecutive day of losses.
The Nifty declined by 0.86%, reaching a three-month low of 23,431, whereas the Sensex closed down by 1.08% at 74,764. Despite an initial display of momentum in early trading, the markets swiftly relinquished their gains as selling pressure intensified and continued unabated until the close, leaving the bulls with scant opportunity to mount a recovery. Technical experts indicate that the 23,400 zone is expected to serve as the immediate support area for the Nifty 50.
Equities to Monitor:
- ICICI Bank announced on Wednesday that ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company Limited has obtained RBI approval to acquire a cumulative stake of up to 9.95% in the paid-up share capital or voting rights of four banks.
- Hindustan Zinc has secured a six-year transportation agreement with MFL India, which involves the deployment of 30 electric trucks. Under the contract, electric vehicles will facilitate the transportation of zinc and lead concentrates from Hindustan Zinc’s Rampura Agucha mine to its smelting facilities in Rajasthan.
- GMR Airports has successfully raised Rs 1,500 crore via non-convertible bonds, offering an interest rate of 9.56% and a maturity period extending up to 36 months. The bonds were issued on a private-placement basis to refinance existing non-convertible bonds that bore a higher interest rate of 10.75%.
- Dilip Buildcon has secured a Letter of Intent valued at Rs 1,800 crore from PNGRB for the Paradip-Raipur LPG pipeline project, which encompasses the laying, construction, operation, and expansion of the pipeline.
- Enviro Infra Engineers: The subsidiary Suyog Urja has obtained a letter of intent valued at Rs 224.19 crore from Tata Power Renewable Energy for a 180 MW wind EPC project located in Parli, Maharashtra. The project is slated for completion by March 2027.
- Equitas Small Finance Bank has announced that its Board of Directors is scheduled to convene on September 16, 2026, to deliberate on and potentially sanction a proposal aimed at raising capital via the private placement of unsecured, subordinated, transferable, redeemable, and fully paid-up Lower Tier II bonds, structured as non-convertible debentures.
- Shakti Pumps has secured an order valued at Rs 235.92 crore from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company for the provision of 10,000 off-grid solar water pumping systems. The order is to be executed within 60 days of the work order or Notice to Proceed.
- AU Small Finance Bank has received approval from the RBI for ICICI Prudential AMC and its related schemes/funds to acquire a cumulative stake of up to 9.95% in the bank, in accordance with relevant regulations.
- Indian Bank is seeking to divest up to 15 lakh equity shares of the National Stock Exchange of India through an Offer for Sale in connection with the exchange’s proposed Initial Public Offering. The proposed stake sale signifies 17.91% of Indian Bank’s shareholding in NSE and is contingent upon obtaining the necessary regulatory approvals, as stated by the bank in an exchange filing on Wednesday.
- Focus Lighting has secured an order valued at approximately Rs 10-17 crore from Larsen & Toubro for the supply of street lighting poles in the Northern Region of India.
- IRB Infrastructure Developers reported a 25% year-on-year increase in toll revenue, reaching Rs 807.4 crore in August 2026, up from Rs 646.2 crore in the same month last year. This reflects a sustained upward trend in toll collections.
- Wipro, the prominent IT firm, has initiated a new CISO Command Center in partnership with CrowdStrike, aimed at assisting enterprises in bolstering their cybersecurity measures in response to AI-driven threats. The initiative seeks to deliver proactive, risk-informed cyber resilience that is in alignment with business priorities.
- Coal India’s subsidiary, Northern Coalfields, has experienced a significant increase in coal production, rising by 67%, alongside a 75% increase in supply, as the disruptions caused by the monsoon begin to subside. NCL’s FY27 production is recorded at 51.43 MT, while supplies have reached 55 MT as of September 8.
- Sun Pharma has established the Sun Pharma Global Treasury Center IFSC in GIFT City, Gandhinagar. This center will function as the global treasury hub for the Sun Pharma Group.
