GIFT Nifty Opening Update

GIFT Nifty opened today at 24,026.00. It is down -12.50 points (-0.05%) from yesterday’s close of 24,051.00- so the trend is negative.

Investors in the Indian stock market are expected to monitor various companies on Tuesday, September 1, in light of significant announcements and developments disclosed after market hours. Hero Motocorp, Reliance Industries, Adani Green Energy, Tata Motors, Wipro, Gland Pharma, NMDC, Texmaco Rail & Engineering, L&T Finance, and Welspun Corp are among the stocks expected to attract attention. Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty experienced a slight decline on Tuesday, influenced by apprehensions regarding high crude oil prices and escalating tensions between the US and Iran, which negatively impacted investor sentiment. The 30-share BSE Sensex concluded the trading session at 76,944.28, reflecting a decline of 12.99 points, or 0.02%, following a period of volatility. At 3:12 pm, the benchmark index was trading at 76,685.48, reflecting a decline of 271.79 points.

However, it recouped a significant portion of its losses during the Closing Auction Session, which was implemented by the Securities and Exchange Board of India starting August 3 in a phased approach. During the session, the index experienced a decline of 301.15 points, equivalent to 0.39%, settling at 76,656.12. The 50-share NSE Nifty concluded the trading session with a decrease of 24.60 points, representing a decline of 0.10%, ultimately settling at 24,055.80 on the day of weekly expiry. The index had declined by nearly 100 points to 23,980.55 before regaining a portion of the losses as the session drew to a close.

Equities to Monitor:

  • Hero Motocorp reported a 4.5% year-on-year increase in domestic dispatches, reaching 5,42,305 units in August 2026. This growth was bolstered by robust scooter sales, which compensated for a downturn in motorcycle volumes. The country’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer by volumes had dispatched 519,139 units in the domestic market in August 2025.
  • Reliance Industries has entered India’s ice cream market through its FMCG division, Reliance Consumer Products, by introducing the Bombay Creamery brand.
  • Adani Green Energy has successfully commissioned a 139 MW solar power project at Khavda in Gujarat, thereby increasing its operational renewable energy capacity to over 20 GW.
  • Tata Motors announced that it has secured all requisite prior regulatory approvals in accordance with the relevant sectoral regulations for its intended acquisition of the Italian commercial vehicle manufacturer Iveco Group. The approvals signify a crucial advancement in the process of finalising the transaction.
  • Wipro has extended its Digital Workplace Services contract with ABB, thereby reinforcing its enduring partnership with the global leader in electrification and automation.
  • Gland Pharma announced that the US Food and Drug Administration has finalised a Good Manufacturing Practices inspection of its Visakhapatnam facility, which took place from August 24 to September 1, and noted that there were no Form 483 observations.
  • NMDC reported a rise in production for August, with total output increasing to 4.07 million tonnes compared to 3.37 MT in the same month last year. Total sales stood at 3.58 MT, compared with 3.39 MT in August 2025.
  • Texmaco Rail & Engineering has obtained an order valued at Rs 24.48 crore, inclusive of taxes, from Transport Corporation of India Limited. This order pertains to the manufacturing, supply, and commissioning of a rake that includes ACT-1 and BVCM waggons.
  • L&T Finance has secured perpetual registration from the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India to function as a Corporate Agent (Composite), with effect from August 31, 2026.
  • Welspun Corp has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Perma-Pipe International Holdings, collaborating with the developers of Jordan’s National Water Carrier Project and the Jordanian government to establish pipe manufacturing and advanced coating facilities in Jordan.
