GIFT Nifty Opening Update
GIFT Nifty opened today at 22,389.00. It is up 120.50 points (0.54%) from yesterday’s close of 22,255.00- so the trend is positive.
Investors in the Indian stock market are expected to monitor a number of companies on Friday, October 9, following a sequence of significant earnings reports, order acquisitions, business advancements, and strategic alliances. P N Gadgil Jewellers, S&S Power Switchgear, RentoMojo, NCC, PACE Digitek, and Hexaware Technologies are among the stocks expected to attract attention. SML Mahindra, IRB Infrastructure Developers, and TCS are likely to draw interest in light of their recent sales, business, and financial updates.
Equities to Monitor:
- TCS, the largest IT services company in the country, reported a net profit of Rs 13,884 crore in Q2, reflecting a 15% year-on-year increase from Rs 12,075 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Its revenue from operations rose by 11.2% year-on-year, reaching Rs 73,188 crore, up from Rs 65,799 crore. The IT major commenced the second quarter earnings season for Indian corporations with its results for the September quarter.
- NCC has secured a significant order valued at Rs 1,286 crore from Hyderabad Growth Corridor Limited. The order pertains to the construction of Radial Road-2, thereby bolstering the company’s order book and infrastructure portfolio.
- S&S Power Switchgear announced that its wholly owned subsidiary received a LOA from Sterling & Wilson for supplying 765 kV isolators for an Adani project in Maharashtra. The order is valued at more than Rs 1 crore, with delivery scheduled for the upcoming financial year.
- Hexaware Technologies announced that it has entered into a multi-year partnership with Anthropic, thereby becoming a preferred partner in its Claude Partner Network. Claude will be integrated into Hexaware’s Zerovity AI-native engineering platform and AgentVerse platform. The partnership will facilitate outcome-oriented services in the realms of IT operations and software engineering.
- P N Gadgil Jewellers has reported its results for the September quarter, revealing a year-on-year revenue increase of 22.4%. Retail revenue experienced a notable increase of 31.1%, whereas the franchise segment demonstrated an even more robust growth of 34.7%. Rakhi sales experienced a remarkable increase of 114%, contrasting sharply with a significant decline of 83.6% in e-commerce revenue. The company plans to establish approximately 23 new retail locations in fiscal year 2027.
- RentoMojo reported a 51.1% year-on-year increase in revenue from operations, reaching Rs 126.33 crore, alongside a 50.2% rise in normalised EBITDA to Rs 52.27 crore. Normalised PAT surged 71.8% year-on-year to Rs 21.93 crore, while the net loss decreased to Rs 10 crore from Rs 15 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
- PACE Digitek has notified investors of receiving a Letter of Intent valued at Rs 179.4 crore from BSES Rajdhani Power. The order pertains to the development of a 57.5 MW/115 MWh standalone Battery Energy Storage System in Delhi, which is set to be established across four grid stations.
- SML Mahindra: Commercial vehicle sales increased by 31.9% year-on-year to 1,071 units in September 2026, up from 812 units in the same month last year. Production rose by 19.8% year-on-year, reaching 1,257 units, up from 1,049 units. However, exports experienced a significant decline of 61.6% year-on-year, falling to 53 units from 138 units.
- IRB Infrastructure Developers reported a gross toll revenue increase of approximately 24% year-on-year, reaching Rs 773 crore in September 2026, up from Rs 622 crore in the same month the previous year. Toll revenue from wholly-owned subsidiaries increased by 17% on a like-for-like basis. IRB MP Motorway recorded revenue of Rs 162.1 crore, whereas IRB Ahmedabad Vadodara Super Express Tollway reported revenue of Rs 79.5 crore.
