The 30-share BSE Sensex experienced a decline of 429.11 points, representing a decrease of 0.59%, closing at 72,638.70. Out of the constituents, 26 stocks saw a decrease while four recorded an increase.

- Tata Consultancy Services – Tata Group’s IT services arm, Tata Consultancy Services, is set to release its results for the September quarter on October 8.
- Reliance Industries has received an order dated October 6, 2026, from the Joint Commissioner of Customs (Import), ACC, Mumbai, imposing a redemption fine and penalty totalling Rs 18,74,978. The penalty pertains to an alleged underpayment of customs duty resulting from the improper classification of imported goods in the Bill of Entry. The company intends to contest the order.
- Ola Electric Mobility has sanctioned a rights issue amounting to Rs 1,000 crore via partly paid-up equity shares.
