GIFT Nifty Opening Update
GIFT Nifty opened today at 22,649.00. It is up 60.00 points (0.27%) from yesterday’s close of 22,576.00- so the trend is positive.
The Indian stock market is anticipated to commence on a positive note on Tuesday, 6 October, as GIFT Nifty indicates a favourable outlook for domestic equities. GIFT Nifty was trading at approximately 22,663, reflecting an increase of nearly 81 points from the prior close of Nifty futures, suggesting a robust opening for the benchmark indices. The Sensex and Nifty concluded the trading session on a positive note on Monday, ending their recent downward trend as alleviated worries regarding oil supplies and favourable signals from global markets enhanced investor confidence. The 30-share BSE Sensex increased by 472.77 points, representing a rise of 0.66%, concluding at 72,382.47. During the session, it increased by as much as 722.23 points, or 1%, reaching a level of 72,631.93.
The NSE Nifty experienced an increase of 133.80 points, representing a rise of 0.60%, concluding the session at 22,555.75. Indian stock market investors are expected to monitor various companies on Tuesday, October 6, as significant business updates, Q2 FY27 results, acquisitions, new order wins, and other operational developments take center stage. On Tuesday, 6 October, shares of Vedanta, IREDA, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Trent, and Marico are expected to be in focus.
Equities to monitor:
- Vedanta’s board will convene on October 8 to deliberate on the first interim dividend for FY27. The record date for identifying eligible shareholders is established as October 14.
- IREDA – On October 5, 2026, the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency entered into a performance-linked Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
- Axis Bank’s gross advances rose by 8.8% on a quarter-on-quarter basis and by 22.7% year-on-year, reaching Rs 13.84 lakh crore in Q2. Total deposits increased by 5.8% quarter-on-quarter and 20.7% year-on-year, reaching Rs 14.52 lakh crore.
- Kotak Mahindra Bank’s net advances increased by 24.7% year-on-year, reaching Rs 5.77 lakh crore at the conclusion of Q2. CASA deposits experienced an increase of 11.3% year-on-year, reaching Rs 2.49 lakh crore, whereas total deposits saw a growth of 23.2%, amounting to Rs 6.51 lakh crore.
- Trent’s Q2 standalone revenue experienced a year-on-year increase of 23%, rising to Rs 5,788 crore from Rs 4,724 crore. During the quarter, the retailer opened 10 Westside and 17 Zudio stores, bringing its total store count to 1,342 as of September 30, 2026.
- Marico has secured an additional 24.09% stake in Satiya Nutraceuticals, the parent entity of the health and wellness brand PLIX, for a total consideration of Rs 1,012.03 crore. The acquisition increases its total holding in the company to 84.09% on a fully diluted basis.
- Narayana Hrudayalaya has entered into an agreement with Mission of Mercy Hospital and Research Center and The Assemblies of God of North India to operate and manage Mission of Mercy Hospital & Research Center at Park Street, Kolkata, on an exclusive long-term basis. The facility comprises 100 beds and covers an area of approximately 63,240.37 square feet.
- IndusInd Bank reported an 11.2% year-on-year increase in net advances to Rs 3,62,393 crore as of September 30, 2026, compared with Rs 3,25,881 crore a year earlier. Net advances increased by 11.1% on a sequential basis.
- Juniper Hotels has entered into a binding Memorandum of Understanding with Imagicaaworld Entertainment to acquire the operational Novotel Imagicaa hotel located in Khopoli, Maharashtra, for a sum of Rs 248 crore. The property encompasses 287 rooms and spans roughly 11 acres.
- Zydus Lifesciences, in partnership with MSN Laboratories, has introduced Riociguat Tablets in the US, available in strengths of 0.5 mg, 1 mg, 1.5 mg, 2 mg, and 2.5 mg. Zydus and MSN have become the inaugural companies to introduce a generic variant of Adempas (riociguat) in the United States market.
