GIFT Nifty Opening Update

GIFT Nifty opened today at 22,640.00. It is up 142.50 points (0.63%) from yesterday’s close of 22,491.00- so the trend is positive.

The Indian stock market is poised for a higher opening on Monday, 5 October, as GIFT Nifty indicates a positive start for domestic benchmark indices. GIFT Nifty was trading near the 22,580 mark, reflecting an increase of approximately 50 points from the prior close of Nifty futures, indicating a robust opening for the Indian equity market. Domestic equities continued to face downward pressure throughout the prior week. The Sensex experienced a decline of 1.52% on Monday, followed by relatively modest losses in the subsequent two sessions, before registering an additional drop of 0.79% on Thursday. For the week, the Sensex experienced a decline of 1,670.84 points, concluding at 71,909.70, whereas the Nifty fell by over 3%, finishing at 22,421.95.

Investors are expected to monitor a range of stocks on Monday as firms disclose significant developments, encompassing business updates, fundraising strategies, new orders, project milestones, regulatory actions, and strategic initiatives, all of which may impact their share prices. Ola Electric Mobility, HDFC Bank, Nykaa, and Bajaj Housing Finance are among the equities that will attract attention on Monday.

  • Ola Electric Mobility – Promoter Bhavish Aggarwal has pledged a 4.32% stake in the company to participate in the rights issue approved by the board, the electric vehicle maker announced on Sunday, October 4.
  • HDFC Bank continues to attract attention following the appointment of its new MD & CEO, alongside the release of its quarterly business update late Sunday. The lender’s gross advances increased by 16.3% year-on-year, reaching Rs 32.19 lakh crore in the quarter.
  • FSN E-Commerce Ventures, which operates Nykaa, announced on Sunday, October 4, that its consolidated net revenue for the September quarter is anticipated to increase in the high twenties compared to the same period last year.
  • Bajaj Housing Finance reported strong growth in gross disbursements and assets under management for the quarter ended September 30, 2026.
  • RITES announced on Sunday that it has obtained relief amounting to Rs 38.30 crore concerning a tax, interest, and penalty demand for FY20. The relief ensued after an appellate authority’s ruling to partially annul the demand order.
  • Infosys – Infosys’ American Depositary Receipt surged nearly 8% in pre-market trading on October 1 following Accenture’s announcement of better-than-expected fourth-quarter results and an upward revision of its revenue outlook for FY27.
  • Dr Reddy’s Laboratories announced that its US subsidiary, DRL Inc, has incurred a penalty of $32,350 due to an erroneous classification of the financial year reference during tax payments.
  • DLF has announced that its luxury residential project, The Aureva, in Sector 63, Gurugram, has been completely sold out. The development is aimed at the retirement segment.
  • Canara Bank – The lender reported a 16.8% year-on-year increase in domestic advances to Rs 12.63 lakh crore in the second quarter. Global business experienced an increase of 15.8%, reaching Rs 30.71 lakh crore, whereas domestic deposits rose by 11%, totalling Rs 15.48 lakh crore.
  • Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency announced that the additional charge of Chairman and Managing Director assigned to Director-Finance Dr. Bijay Kumar Mohanty has been extended for an additional three months. The extension will be effective from October 1, 2026.
  • ICICI Prudential Life Insurance – The insurer has appointed Siddharth Mishra as Managing Director and CEO for a term of five years. The appointment follows the departure of incumbent MD and CEO Anup Bagchi, who has transitioned to HDFC Bank.
